Women’s sports is still in its infancy. The beginning of women’s sports in the United States started in 1972, with the passage of Title 9 for girls to finally get athletic scholarships.

  • Participation has grown 1057 percent

  • Only 1 percent of college athletic budgets went to women's sports programs 

  • Participation went up by 614 percent 

Female Basketball Coach

Professional 

  • More opportunities have emerged for young women to their sports into career as well as created more coaching opportunities for women.

NCAA & Title IX

All university and colleges both public and private that receive federal funds must comply with Title IX. This directly impacts and regulates athletic participation, scholarships, and any other benefits that involve equal treatment of female and male student-athletes.
